The workshop combined field recording, sound editing, group performance, and storytelling. Participants used professional equipment to collect sounds across the city, designed costumes and props for imaginary sound expeditions, and reflected on how noise, rhythm, and silence shape the way we feel, move, and express ourselves.
The format culminated in a multi-day holiday lab, where the group transformed their creative research into a public sound installation—presented during a neighborhood celebration at Kulturtreff Johannstadt.
From building oversized microphones to composing their own soundtracks, children developed creative agency while discovering the power of non-visual expression. The final audio-visual installation was shared with families and the local community, strengthening neighborhood ties and offering new formats for collective storytelling. Plans for long-term collaboration and knowledge transfer are already in motion.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Lissy Lee and John for their invaluable support and commitment throughout the project.
